Charger Baseball Notches Road Win Powers traveled to Linden and posted a 4-0 win behind Logan Gowan’s one-hit, 82-pitch complete game gem. The Chargers jumped ahead with two runs in the first behind Landon Bohanon’s two-out hit. Powers added a run in the second courtesy of a Michael Borg sacrifice fly. Powers them acting with a run in the fifth. Drew Simmons and Kane Sekelsky added an RBI apiece. Powers turned three double plays and Bohanon was involved in all of them, including an unassisted one. Defense was a key because the 72-degree day featured a powerful southwest wind that knocked down all fly balls. Powers goes to 2-0 on the young season and plays next at Swartz Creek on Saturday. It is a doubleheader, but the game at 11am is the opener in the Tom Cole Flint Invitational Tournament. Because of that, fans will be charged 5 dollars admission. By the way, Swartz Creek has a beautiful new turf stadium, so come out to enjoy the impressive venue. Go Chargers!
