Track Team Wins Shaking off the Rust Invitational On Friday April 10th the Chargers competed at the 28 team Shake off the Rust Invitational hosted by Davison High School. The Powers men won the medium schools division with a total of 137.5 points over conference rival Mount Pleasant. The Powers women finished 3rd in medium schools. The meet started out with Tyler Wood picking up the overall win in the high jump. The 3200 meter relay team of Lennox Naswell, Griffin Solano, Caleb Carignan and Thomas Beiter finished 3rd overall. The 800 meter relay team of Jayce Beauchamp, Princeton Clack, Quirin Cokley and Grant Roberts finished 2nd overall in the fine early season time of 1:31.52. This is the fastest time in Division two so far this year. The 400 meter relay team of Jayce Beauchamp, Princeton Clack, Quirin Cokley and Grant Roberts finished 1st overall in a meet record time of 43.27. This ranks as the 4th best performance in school history and currently stands as the #2 time in division 2 track. Caleb Carignan continued his strong season with a 3rd place finish in the 3200 meter run. Lennox Naswell had a strong day as he finished 2nd in the 1600 meter run and 3rd in the 800 meter run. Grant Roberts finished 4th in the 200 meter dash and Jayce Beauchamp was 5th in the 100 meter dash. On the women’s side Michaela Wolosuk continued her strong start to the season with a 6th place finish in the 100 and 5th in the 200. Victoria Bouchey was 7th in the 400. Milla Vilareal was 7th in the 3200 meter run. The 1600 meter relay team of Wolosuk, Bouchey, Lily Potocheny and Sara Piper finished 4th in the fine early season time of 4:30.01. This is currently the top time in the region. The 3200 meter Bouchey, Potocheny, Villareal and Piper finished 6th overall. In the field events Evah Smith placed 2nd overall in the shot put and Elle Doherty was also 2nd in the high jump.
