**LAPEER, Mich.** — The Powers Catholic boys and girls cross country teams turned in strong performances Wednesday at the Saginaw Valley League Jamboree No. 2 at Rolland-Warner Middle School, with the boys finishing second and the girls placing third in their respective varsity races. The Powers boys finished with 39 points, trailing only Davison's 34, while Grand Blanc was third with 50 points and Lapeer fourth with 112. Powers competed without its top runner, Lennox Naswell, who was sidelined by illness, while several other Chargers entered the race not at full strength. Despite the circumstances, Powers put five runners in the top 20. Ryan Rathsburg led the Chargers, finishing third overall in 17:03.1. Ben Bouchey was sixth in 17:26.0, followed by Alex Iordanou in eighth at 17:45.0 and freshman Daniel Newman in ninth at 17:46.7. Charlie Penneau rounded out Powers' scoring five with a 13th-place finish in 18:26.0. Miles Muxlow added a 17th-place finish in 18:41.9, while Nolan Campbell was 20th in 19:06.7. The Powers girls finished third with 57 points, just one point behind runner-up Grand Blanc. Davison won the team competition with 35 points, while Lapeer finished fourth with 65. Junior **Mila Villarreal** led the Chargers with an outstanding runner-up finish, crossing the line in 20:33.3 — just under five seconds behind race winner Brooklyn Wiltse of Davison. Victoria Bouchey also delivered a strong performance for Powers, placing fifth in 21:46.7. Jade McCormick finished 15th in 24:03.8, followed closely by Samantha Randazzo in 16th at 24:04.4. Riley Sovis rounded out the Chargers' top five with a 19th-place finish in 24:55.8. The Chargers will return to competition Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Shepherd Bluejay Invitational in Shepherd.
