MACOMB, Mich. — Powers Catholic put four golfers inside the top 20 Tuesday and turned in the best team score at Cracklewood Golf Club, winning the MHSAA Division 3 Regional 18 championship. The Chargers shot 370, finishing 9 strokes ahead of runner-up Pontiac Notre Dame Prep, which shot 379. Goodrich placed third at 384, followed by Yale at 415 and Armada at 422. Powers’ regional championship sends the Chargers to the MHSAA Division 3 Finals, scheduled for Oct. 16-17 at Katke Golf Course at Ferris State University. McKenna Kelly led the way for Powers with an 89, placing second individually at 17 over par. Kelly finished six strokes behind regional champion Brookelyn Webb of Goodrich, who shot 83. Isabelle Mark was next for the Chargers with a 90, good for fourth place. Laney Applegate shot 95 to tie for eighth, while Emma Darmafall carded a 96 to finish 10th. Emersyn Granata rounded out the Powers lineup with a 102, tying for 19th. The Chargers’ depth proved decisive, with all four of their scoring golfers finishing among the top 10 individually.
